Just for B&V Rain Garden Brigade Members:
Learning Tools for Your Child's School!
The 10,000 Rain Gardens Initiative is an
engaging educational opportunity for children, and the B&V
Rain Garden Brigade is pleased to offer you resources and tools
to support your children, teachers and schools. To increase awareness
and encourage rain garden learning activities, we can:
- provide copies of our educational "Rain
Garden Pocket Facts" (PDF) to
schools, teachers and school organizations.
- donate to your school a $50 native plant starter kit (or gift
certificate, as appropriate). The school can use the starter
kit to give away as a prize or incentive, to raise funds or to
plant in the school's own rain garden.
- arrange for Critical Site Products in Belton to donate an equivalent
gift of a flat of native plants for schools to use in their
own rain gardens.
- assist with matching your child’s
school group with rain garden experts to speak with them about
rain gardens.

Elizabeth's school.
Interested? Contact raingardens@bv.com with
specific questions or to request copies of the "Pocket Facts" leaflet.
Also, discuss the idea with your children and explore the idea informally
with school leaders during end-of-the-year activities. Then watch
for a second round of announcements at the end of the summer as school
reconvenes!
